Lee Martin’s first Town brace and Michael Chopra’s perhaps inevitable goal against his old club saw the Blues to a 3-0 victory over Cardiff at Portman Road and to four wins on the trot for the first time since November 2004. Martin put Town in front in the first half from Daryl Murphy’s cutback, Chopra converting Carlos Edwards’s cross just after the break and Martin added the third when he made the most of a defensive lapse.

Blues boss Paul Jewell was delighted with his side’s third successive victory, Town leaving Fratton Park with a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth. Blues boss Paul Jewell said no one was set to join the club at the start of the ‘emergency loan window’ on Wednesday after Saturday's game at Coventry. The Town manager will be looking to add to his central defenders — and perhaps other areas of the squad — with TWTD understanding that former Blue Titus Bramble, currently at Sunderland, is on his list of potential loanees.
Coventry City 2-3 Town Sat 04th Feb 2012 17:09
Michael Chopra’s last-gasp winner saw the Blues to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Coventry at the Ricoh Arena. Town went ahead through a deflected Jay Emmanuel-Thomas shot but allowed the home side back into the game before the break via a Sammy Clingan penalty and Gary Deegan. However, in the second half Chopra followed up Lee Martin’s penalty to equalise, then clinched all three points at the death.
Town Unchanged at Coventry Sat 04th Feb 2012 14:14
Town boss Paul Jewell has named an unchanged side for this afternoon’s game against bottom-of-the-table Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena. Keeper Alex McCarthy, back after a one-match ban, coming in for Richard Wright on the bench is the only change to the 16.

Town recorded their first double of the season with a form book-shredding 5-1 victory over Championship leaders West Ham at Portman Road. Michael Chopra opened the scoring in the third minute, Daryl Murphy adding the second in a frantic period before the break in which Jack Collison pulled one back for the Hammers and Lee Martin made it 3-1 from the spot. In the second half, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas netted the night’s best goal, a low 35-yard strike which beat Robert Green off his post, then added the fifth in the final moments.
Leeds 3-1 Town Sat 21st Jan 2012 17:18
Town were again guilty of suicidal defending as Leeds came from behind to win 3-1 at Elland Road. The excellent Andy Drury put the Blues ahead in the first half and Town looked on their way to the three points until a succession of calamitous defensive errors saw keeper Alex McCarthy sent off after he handled outside his area and the home side score three times.
